U-KISS’s Hoon and Kiseop to take on musical ‘Goong’ in Japan

U-KISS‘s Hoon and Kiseop will be playing the lead characters of the musical ‘Goong‘ in Japan! The announcement was previously made through the musical’s Japan site, but the idols’ agency have now officially confirmed the news through a press release.

The musical is entering its 4th year already, and Hoon and Kiseop will be taking over this year alongside idols like Supernova‘s Sungmo and F.T. Island‘s Minhwan, to take to the stage at the Osaka theater BRAVE.

Hoon said, “It’s my second musical, so I’m going to do my best to give the audience a stage they’ll be satisfied with.” Kiseop commented, “I’m so nervous because it’s my first musical. Although there’s a lot that I have to learn and lines to memorize, I’ll do my best for a good performance.”

The musical will start in July in Japan.

U-KISS tour dates for Colombia and Mexico confirmed


If you live in Mexico or Colombia, get ready because U-KISS is coming near you!

On April 25, U-KISS announced on their official website that they’ve confirmed 2 dates in June for their South American tour. On June 23, the boys will be performing in Colombia at the Royal Center at 8PM. On June 28, they’ll be in Mexico performing at the Jose Cuervo Salon at 8PM. 

Tickets for both events will go on sale on April 30.

The website also announced that after Mexico and Colombia, there will be new announcements as future dates and venues are confirmed. So if you live in South America and you’re a KISSME, stay tuned for more information!

U-KISS subunit uBEAT reveals more teaser photos



U-KISS‘ first subunit ‘uBEAT‘ is getting ready for their debut tomorrow, and following up on the first round of teaser photos, the boys have released an additional round of bright and colorful teasers to get their fans pumped!

The boys previously revealed that they’ll be standing on stage at the ‘M! Countdown‘ global special scheduled to be held at the Taipei Arena in Taiwan on the 25th, but to get fans ready, they’ll be revealing their mini album ‘Should Have Treated You Better‘ on April 22nd.

‘uBEAT’ stands for ‘U-KISS’ and ‘BEAT’, and is comprised of members Eli and AJ with a featuring from main vocalist Kevin. The new subunit has also teamed up with the hit-making producer Brave Brothers behind their hit song “Man Man Ha Ni” for their upcoming single, leaving fans eagerly anticipating this debut.

U-KISS subunit uBEAT releases 1st mini-album, ‘Should Have Treated You Better’


U-KISS‘ first subunit ‘uBEAT‘ have released their first mini-album, ‘Should Have Treated You Better‘.

Although they will first official stage in Taiwan at the ’M! Countdown‘ global special on April 25th, fans can enjoy the duo’s music until then.

‘uBEAT’ stands for ‘U-KISS’ and ‘BEAT’, and is comprised of members Eli and AJ with a featuring from main vocalist Kevin. For their first mini album ‘Should Have Treated You Better“, the subunit recruited the help of the Brave Entertainment’s top producers Brave Brothers, Elephant Empire, ElectroBoyz, and more. 

Their title track with the same title is a slow tempo fusion of R&B and hip hop, and expresses the feeling of regret from a past relationship and features the rapping skills of Eli and AJ as well as Kevin’s soothing voice. 

IN addition to new songs, the mini-album contains remixes of some of U-KISS’ previously released tracks.

U-KISS’s subunit uBEAT’s teaser images unveiled

U-KISS‘ first subunit ‘uBEAT is getting ready for their debut next week, and what better way to get you all excited than with the release of fun teaser images?

The boys previously revealed that they’ll be standing on stage at the ‘M! Countdown global special scheduled to be held at the Taipei Arena in Taiwan on the 25th, but to get fans ready, they’ll be revealing their mini album ‘Should Have Treated You Better‘ on April 22nd!

The two photos revealed through their official Twitter feature just Eli and AJ in the first one, while the second one also features Kevin getting in on the fun himself!

U-KISS subunit uBeat to have first official stage in Taiwan


U-KISS‘ first subunit ‘uBEAT‘ will have their first official stage in Taiwan!

The boys will be standing on stage at the ‘M! Countdown‘ global special scheduled to be held at the Taipei Arena in Taiwan on the 25th. uBEAT is made up of Eli and AJ. Kevin also participated in their debut album as well.

uBEAT said, “We’re a bit nervous and also anticipating this because we’re having our first stage not in Korea, but overseas. But since we have a lot of experience standing on stage in foreign countries as U-KISS, we’re confident we can put on a flawless stage.

Their song, “Should Have Treated You Better“, is produced by Brave Brothers and will be released on the 22nd.

U-KISS’ Eli and ElectroBoyz’s Maboos take a friendly snapshot while recording uBEAT’s new album


U-KISS fans were jumping up and down in joy after hearing news of the group’s first ever subunit uBEAT. Following the good news, uBEAT member Eli and ElectroBoyz‘ Maboos updated fans with a friendly snapshot from the studio while recording for the subunit’s debut album.

Maboos shared on his Twitter, “With Eli from U-Kiss at the [Brave Entertainment] studio^* In the middle of recording U-KISS’ unit album~~~It’s good. I like it!! uBEAT hwaiting,” along with a selca of the two giving their toughest expressions.

Eli also tweeted, “With Maboos. Ma Boy 3 daebak!” with a more friendly selca of Eli showing his support for ElectroBoyz’s ‘Ma Boy 3‘ album.

Fans commented, “Eli and Maboos seem really close,” “It’s nice to see Eli smiling while recording,” and “‘Ma Boy 3′ is daebak! I can’t wait to listen to uBEAT’s new song.”

U-KISS, ZE:A Five, Davichi and More to Take K-Pop to South America


Chile will be hosting a large-scale K-Pop performance to fan the flames of the K-Pop boom sweeping through the region.

On May 19, the I Love K-Pop with Friends event will take place in Santiago′s largest dome, the Movistar Arena. The event will feature U-KISS, ZE:A Five, After School, Davichi, AA, Sunny Hill, RaNia and more.


It will be hosted by the production company TWEG, with former Mnet CEO and current dean of Seoul Arts - Occupational Training College, Kim Jong Jin, as its director.

The event will even be expanding into a full-fledged tour, going to Peru in August, Mexico in September, Brazil in October and Uruguay in November.

It will also be aired on TV through Mega TV.

B1A4, Girl’s Day, TEEN TOP, Rainbow, U-KISS, and Wonder Girls to be special DJs on ‘ShimShimTaPa’


Various K-pop idols will be filling in for Shindong and his radio program ‘ShimShimTaPa‘ while he’s away for the ‘Super Show 5‘ World Tour in South America.

The radio program made the announcement for the special guest DJs via their official board

B1A4‘s Baro and Sandeul will be filling in on April 22nd, Girl’s Day‘s Sojin and Minah will be taking over on April 23rd, TEEN TOP‘s C.A.P and Chunji will be filling in on April 24th, Rainbow‘s Jisook and SeungA will be DJs on April 25th, U-KISSSoohyun and Kiseop will be filling in on April 26th, and Wonder GirlsLim and Yubin will finish up the week on April 27th.

‘ShimShimTaPa’ dubbed the week “2013 ShimShiMTaPa K-Pop Festival“, since so many K-pop stars will be guest DJs on the program.

U-KISS is set to unleash their first ever sub-unit and they’ll go by the name of ‘uBEAT‘!

NH Media confirmed on the 8th, “U-KISS’ first sub-unit uBEAT will debut at the end of April.”

As you can already guess, ‘uBEAT’ stands for ‘U-KISS’ and ‘BEAT’, and is comprised of members Eli and AJ with a featuring from main vocalist Kevin.
uBEAT have also teamed up with the hit-making producer Brave Brothers behind their hit song “Man Man Ha Ni” for their upcoming single, leaving fans eagerly anticipating this debut.

U-KISS’ Kevin still doesn’t have a full grasp on the choreography for “Standing Still?”


Apparently, Kevin still doesn’t have a full grasp on the choreography to U-KISS‘ new song, ”Standing Still“!

Leader Soohyun took the lead during MBC Music‘s ‘Gangnam Feel Dance Class‘ to teach the choreography for “Standing Still”. While he was teaching, he revealed, “Only Kevin is doing different footwork.” The other U-KISS members added on, “Actually, Kevin is the only member doing it his own way since our comeback.

Kevin smiled at their teasing and said, “I’m sorry for being a trouble in the team. I guess the person that needs to learn on ‘Gangnam Fee Dance Class’ is actually me“. 

He then worked harder on the choreography than any of the students in the class, causing everyone else to laugh.

U-KISS perform for the 1st time on ‘Immortal Song 2′


U-KISS did not disappoint with their first performance on ‘Immortal Song 2‘.
On the March 30th episode, the boys (Kevin, Dongho and Soohyun) covered the well-known trot song “Ddeng Bbul” into an R&B melody, and their rendition won them the round over WAX.

U-KISS commented, “WAX is such a veteran sunbae, and she sings very well. We never even thought we could beat her.”

Though they won the round against WAX, it was Davichi who took the final win.

U-KISS’ Dongho gives special lecture at his alma mater


U-KISSDongho was invited to give a special lecture at his alma mater Hanrim High School of Performing Arts. He graduated from the applied music department this year.

On March 26th, Dongho lectured about ‘Living as an Idol in Korea’ to his juniors. NH Media shared, “Dongho felt shy about giving a special lecture to his juniors at first, but accepted it because he thought it would be helpful to tell them stories he learned from his experiences. He’s been preparing for the lecture diligently despite his  busy schedule and is planning to tell his juniors many stories.”

During the hour long lecture, Dongho discussed the idol process and hardships he faced as a trainee and as an idol group member as well as the rewarding moments from the hard work.

Meanwhile, U-KISS is currently promoting their third album’s title song “Standing Still“.

U-KISS take a photo with the Backstreet Boys in Malaysia


U-KISS snapped a photo with the Backstreet Boys.

The boys were invited to perform at the ‘Twin Towers @ Live 2013‘ concert in Malaysia. They were on the same stage as American artists such as the Backstreet Boys and Demi Lovato. Because they shared the same stage, they had an opportunity to snap a photo with the legendary group.

The official U-KISS Twitter account tweeted the above photo and wrote, “With Backstreet Boys in Malaysia! I remember working hard on ‘As Long As You Love Me‘ before debuting~ It was a great time we got to spend with people we respect! We’ll become a U-KISS that will never forget how it all began!!^^“.

Previously, the Backstreet Boys had also taken photos with Super Junior-M in China as well.

U-KISS and 2NE1 to stand on the same stage as Backstreet Boys and Demi Lovato in Malaysia


U-KISS and 2NE1 have been invited as the Korean representative(s) for a ‘Formula 1‘ event!

In America there’s NASCAR, for the rest of the world there’s Formula 1 or more commonly known as simply F1, which is the highest class of auto racing in the world. 

Formula 1 will hold their annual Petronas Grand Prix event in Malaysia and both U-KISS and 2NE1 have been invited to perform at the concert stage ‘Twin Towers @ Live 2013‘ before the racing event. U-KISS is scheduled to perform on the 22nd while 2NE1 will perform on the 23rd. Both of these respective groups will be standing on the same stage as American artists such as Backstreet Boys and Demi Lovato. In 2011, the Wonder Girls performed for the event, and in 2012, Girls’ Generation were the guests.

For their upcoming performance, U-KISS said, “While we went on foreign performances, we were on stages with famous stars, but this performance feels different. We think this will be so much more meaningful because we can stand on the same place as Backstreet Boys, who we really respect. We’re so honored that U-KISS was invited to a place where people all over the world gather, and we’ll put on a great performance as the Korean representatives.

U-KISS’ Dongho gets giddy from a back hug on ‘Star King’


U-KISSDongho got a ‘back hug’ from genius guitarist Jang Ha Eun on the latest ‘Star King‘.

On the March 16th broadcast, siblings Jang Ha Eun and Jang Ha Jin prepared an amazing guitar performance. Dongho was unable to look away from their expert guitar playing, which Rainbow‘s Jaekyung pointed out.

He explained, “She’s so pretty playing guitar.” MC Kang Ho Dong then suggested Dongho and Jung Ha Eun play the instrument together. The professional guitarist tried to lead Dongho, helping him from behind. 

The idol was unable to hide his nervousness, getting giddy with laughter from the ‘back hug’.

Red Bull Korea gifts U-KISS’s Eli with an epic birthday cake!


One of Red Bull Korea‘s top customers received a special birthday gift on March 13 (KST). It was none other than U-KISS member Eli!

The company wished Eli a happy birthday by posting the cake below captioned with, “3/13, today is U-KISS Eli’s birthday! Happy Birthday to our friend @u_kisseli^^! We always give you wiiings!

U-KISS and Yurisangja to star on upcoming ‘Immortal Song 2′ special!


Earlier this year in our prediction article, we’d hoped that U-KISS would get a chance to appear on ‘Immortal Song 2‘. Well, that hope has turned into reality as the boys will be starring on an upcoming special.

Both U-KISS and Yurisangja will be featured guests on the upcoming ‘Women Generation Special’. 

A representative from ‘Immortal Song 2′ stated, “U-KISS and Yurisangja will be guesting for the first time on the ‘Immortal Song’ Women Generation Special filming that will occur on the 18th. Their performance is a one-time special performance. Davichi, Narsha, and Yoon Hyung Ryul will also be featured on the show. The show will be centered around trot songs that the women of this generation like.

Even though it’s not a permanent spot for them, hopefully this is a step in the right direction! The episode will be airing on the 30th.

U-KISS’ Soohyun enrolls at Paichai University


U-KISSSoohyun will be attending Paichai University!

He visited the school on March 12 and spent time eating and talking with professors and the school President. The professors gave him a tour of the campus, and they talked about how his college life would be. Soohyun was his usual charming and witty self even with the professors, and they liked him immediately and couldn’t stop laughing throughout their conversation. They also noted that Soohyun greeted everyone he met politely.



Soohyun also received a scholarship to the university. Photos of the leader of U-KISS visiting the college were uploaded onto the school’s blog and Twitter, where they shared, “Soohyun the leader of U-KISS, who was awarded the Hallyu Special Achievement Award from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism last year, has enrolled at our Paichai University. On March 12, Tuesday, he visited the school and spent a great time with the President and the professors. He looks even cooler up close in person. :D During the day, we introduced the school and talked about his future college life. We’re looking forward to him being a student at Paichai University! Because Soohyun was so bright and cheerful, the President and the professors couldn’t stop smiling. We can’t help but remember how Soohyun was so polite that he greeted everyone that he saw. We’re looking forward to Soohyun because he works passionately at whatever he does. It was nice meeting you!!
