SHINee’s Minho Spotted on University Campus

The handsome Minho of SHINee was spotted at Kun Kook University while filming for an advertisement for the school.

On May 13, a post was made on an online community forum with the title, “SHINee’s Minho Spotted Today at Kun Kook” along with several photos.

In the photos, Minho was seen posing around various locations at his school. He is currently enrolled in the Film Studies major at Kun Kook University and was reported to be filming for a school advertisement.

Minho sported a comfortable campus style with a cardigan, letterman jacket and khaki pants. He posed in vairoius locations such as in front of the library, a classroom, a lake and more.

Meanwhile, SHINee is currently promoting “Why So Serious” by making many TV appearances.

Minho was dressed up in the Konkuk University Varsity Letterman Jacket, and he looked as cool as ever as he talked with the other students and then enjoyed the sun with a bright smile.

SHINee’s Minho has pasta cravings soaring with his new CF for ‘Gluten Free Rice Pasta’

Food brand ‘Our Home‘ picked the perfect endorsement model when they announced SHINee‘s Minho as their new face!

The brand commented, “To suit the current trends these days, we decided to recruit a model that young female customers would like… We thought that Minho with his healthy and bright image was the appropriate choice to spread the taste of health of ‘Our Home’.”

With his appointment, Minho has started endorsing the brand’s new ‘Gluten Free Rice Pasta‘, and he definitely has cravings soaring as he not only takes a bite of the pasta, but also plays the role of a chef as he chops up the ingredients.

Minho revealed that he quite enjoyed the filming of the CFs, commenting, “I cook pretty often so I was able to enjoy this filming as the product itself was simple to work with.”

‘SKT‘s endorsement models Girls’ Generation‘s YoonA, Super Junior‘s Kyuhyun, SHINee‘s Minho, and f(x)‘s Sulli recently unveiled their joint ‘SKT LTE‘ CF and now additional CFs of the four stars have been released!

Noh Hong Chul, SHINee’s Minho, and Kim So Hyun named the new hosts of ‘Music Core’

Noh Hong Chul, SHINee‘s Minho, and Kim So Hyun have been cast as the new ‘Music Core‘ MCs!

According to a broadcast insider, the new trio will fill in the empty spots of the former MCs, Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun of Girls’ Generation, and begin their activities on the upcoming April 20th broadcast. ‘Music Core’ will also be unveiling their new ranking system for the first time on the same show.

As mentioned previously, TaeTiSeo will be leaving their MC positions this week after one year hosting the music program, and ‘Music Core’ will begin implementing their new ranking system. The new system will determine the top 4 weekly candidates by calculating the numbers of views on the artist’s music video on their official YouTube channel (1 view per IP address per day), 1500 votes from people ranging in age from 10s to 40s+, and album as well as digital sale scores. During the live broadcast, text message votes will also be added to the score to determine the final winner.

As part of the Seoul Girls Collection 2013, SHINee performed as the final act on April 6, closing out a show that attempted to bring together fashion, music and media.

The members were missing Jonghyun, who was convalescing after his car accident, but still managed to pull off four performances.

Jia and Minho snap a friendly picture

Jia tweeted a photo earlier today, writing, “This week Minho and I, NS Yoon-G and Dongjun got 1st place!  Did you enjoy the show?  There is a broadcast next week as well!  Make sure to watch it!”

SHINee’s Minho to MC new KBS variety show “Mamma Mia” alongside Park Mi Sun and Lee Young Ja

SHINee‘s Minho will have his first major MC gig on KBS!

He’s been confirmed as of the MC’s for the new KBS2TV variety show, ‘Mamma Mia‘, along with Park Mi Sun and Lee Young Ja. Usually, the weekend variety shows are centered around an all male cast, so the female MCs for ‘Mamma Mia’ are expected to bring a new element for the show.

The new variety show will have various celebrities bringing their mothers onto the show. The show had previously aired as a Lunar New Year special, and swept 1st place in terms of viewer ratings. The ‘Mamma Mia’ staff stated, “It’ll be a show centered around the honest conversations between celebrities and their mothers. It’ll be a show where viewers will feel joy, similar to when they hear the word ‘mom’.”

The show will start airing on April 14 after ‘Qualifications of Men‘.

SHINee’s Minho and Taemin race each other for shotgun

SHINee‘s Minho and Taemin showed fans their playful side by racing for shotgun. The two idols were spotted rushing for the front passenger seat of their van between schedules.

The snapshots were uploaded onto an online community site under the title, “SHINee are battling it out for shotgun, so adorable.” It was Taemin who ended up beating Minho by a millisecond, and Minho couldn’t contain his adorable laughter, which made fans laugh along with him.

SHINee’s Minho and Jonghyun have a text message battle on ‘Star King’

SHINee‘s Minho and Jonghyun battled it out in a fast texting challenge on the latest episode of SBS‘ ‘Star King‘.

A contestant known as the ‘text girl’ featured on the show and amazed viewers with her ability to quickly text using her thumbs. The contestant ranked #1 in the national texting competition that took place back in 2010 and went on to rank #2 in the international texting competition.

SHINee tried their hands at texting the assigned message quickly and the top contenders Minho and Jonghyun battled it out for the final round to see who is the fastest texter among the group. Although both Minho and Jonghyun seemed neck-to-neck at first, it was Minho who ended up winning the challenge.

Jonghyun shared, “Because I was very nervous so I made a lot more typos than I realized.”

SHINee’s Key thinks Minho is too nice for his own good

Minho is known for his chic and charismatic image, but fellow SHINee member Key reveals there is more to Minho than meets the eye.

On the upcoming episode of ‘SHINee’s Wonderful Day‘, fans will get to see what Minho and Key are really like as they go on their vacation in London together.

During the trip, Minho especially caught the eyes of women with his model-like looks, tall height, and good manners. He also succumbed to Key’s wishes of going skating together, showing how nice Minho really is.

Key shared, “If you get to know Minho, he is a really easy guy. Since he’s not good at rejecting requests, he buys everything people ask him to get for them and spends money wastefully,” making fans wish Minho was their friend.

SHINee reveals their ‘dream girls’

Jonghyun, Minho, and Taemin of SHINee revealed their ‘dream girls’ in a recent radio broadcast of ‘Choi Hwa Jung’s Power Time‘.

“I like women who are like foxes,” Jonghyun said. “Those with a lot of aegyo and who can play around with me.”

Minho took a different track as he got a little more detailed. “I like girls who look especially beautiful when they flip their hair while in the midst of working hard on something.” [How many of our readers did this in real life just now?]

The youngest, Taemin, gave what might be the most mature answer of them all. “I’d like someone who is the same on the inside and the outside, someone who’s honest about herself.”

SHINee wants to be good role models for rookie artists

Backstage at KBS 2TV‘s ‘Music Bank‘ on the 22nd, SHINee‘s Minho opened up about his group’s latest comeback.

Minho shared, “I think we came back with a bit of nervousness due to the pressure to excel. Although ['Dream Girl'] is good, it is more spectacular when you see it with the performance. I think more people will like it after seeing us perform. Rather than trying to go above people’s expectations, we are trying to show a new style of performance.”

To make up for SHINee’s 11-month hiatus, Minho shared his plans to be active in Korea until fans eventually get sick of him (if that’s ever possible) and revealed, “We plan to conduct many activities in Korea this year. I personally want to do a lot of it. We plan to perform in Korea until people get tired of us and say ‘why don’t you start performing overseas?”

Minho also wants to be a role model for rookie singers stating, “Upon seeing more and more rookie singers, I think to myself ‘I should work harder and show a better side’ so that we can hear that we’re good seniors and we want to be good role models.” 

It seems SHINee have already accomplished their goal of becoming good examples by recently proving why they’re masters on stage.

SHINee take over fashion magazines

SHINee isn’t just sweeping the music scene with their “Dream Girl” comeback.

The boys became young rebels for the Marsh issue of Nylon, where they opened up about things they regret on set. Even though the concept was something the boys have never done before, they had no problem expertly leading the photo shoot.

SHINee also scored a 16-page spread in ‘L’Officiel Hommes‘, where they tossed aside the boyish, innocent image they took on for Nylon and and went for a completely masculine look instead. Jonghyun even had the chance to bear his abs, while Minho showed off his own arm muscles.

To commemorate their upcoming comeback, SHINee and Nylon have teamed up for a fun photoshoot!

The boys donned tattoos (and fake freckles for Key and Taemin) for a new type of photoshoot that matched up with their comeback album. SHINee (especially Jonghyun) explored their oral fixation and their apparent love for random plant parts while trying out a concept they had never done before.

SHINee will be holding their comeback showcase to perform songs from their new album for the first time through the internet for their fans all over the world!

SHINee will be performing the title track “Dream Girl” and other tracks from their new album, as well as their past hits. This online showcase will serve as the group’s first comeback stage after the release of their album on the 19th.

Naver Music stated, “The internet broadcast can not only be seen anywhere across the world but the number of people connecting with music content through smart terminals is increasing and there is growing interest in the internet platform which can produce a stable live [broadcast]. SHINee releases teaser PV for “Fire”

SHINee have released their teaser PV for their upcoming Japanese single “Fire“.

The title track for SHINee’s 7th Japanese single has the theme: “the determination of love that blazes up like a moment of flame.” Ishiwatari Junji wrote the lyrics, BACHLOGIC served as track-maker, and it was mixed by D.O.I.. For its coupling track, the single will include the song, “MOON RIVER WALTZ“.

“Fire” will be released in both limited and regular editions on March 13th. The limited edition DVD will contain two video clips for “Fire” as well as its making-of footage.

SHINee’s ‘Chapter 1. ‘Dream Girl-The misconceptions of you’ album highlight medley is out!

SHINee is set to release their third album ‘Dream Girl‘ in a few days. 

In anticipation of the album’s release, the group has unveiled a teaser medley of songs from the first part of the two-part album, ”Chapter 1. Dream Girl – The Misconceptions of You‘.

The medley features a mix of the soft, loud, soothing, and energetic music, fans have come to love from the talented quintet. The tracklist was also revealed, which included the title song “Dream Girl” and the songs “Spoiler“, “Beautiful“, “Punch Drunk Love“, “Girls Girls Girls“, “Aside” , “Dynamite“, “Runaway“, and “Hitchhiking“.

The group’s third album will be split into two versions. The first part will be released physically on the 20th, and will be called ‘Chapter 1. Dream Girl – The Misconceptions of You’. In April, the 2nd part will be released, called ‘Chapter 2. Dream Girl – The Misconceptions of Me’. The SHINee members said, “From a production stand point, we wanted to express ‘Misconceptions of you’ in the first chapter and ‘Misconception of me’ in the second chapter. The two albums have a lot of stories about ‘misconceptions’. It’s a very SHINee-esque image, please look forward to our future activities.”

SM visual director Min Hee Jin reveals secrets behind SHINee’s album concepts

SHINee recently revealed a few secrets behind their teaser images during ‘SHINee’s Music Spoiler‘ on February 14th.

SM Entertainment‘s Visual and Art Directing department’s Min Hee Jin revealed some of the behind-the-scene stories from SHINee’s past album concepts.

She stated, “At the time, the idea was to make SHINee into non-idol-like idols. They are artists that are more free in their form and are closer to an art, rather than following a structure. This is what we tried to emphasize in their basic visual concept. I consider ‘Romeo‘, released in 2009, SHINee’s peak in terms of music and image. It is closest to what I think ‘SHINee’ is.”
SHINee’s ‘Romeo’ album teasers and jacket photos had attracted much attention for the use of unique masks and accessories.

She continued, “A jacket photo or a teaser image is the identity of a group’s album and takes much thought and consideration. We try not to miss a single detail in our cuts. The images that you see have some meaning to all of them.”
She pointed out, “The black tape on Key’s sole, for example. Even something as small as that was placed their for a reason. Key grabbing the carpet with his left hand was also planned.”

Regarding SHINee’s third full-length album, she stated, “I tried to include what I’ve gathered from talking to each of the members by putting their thoughts into images. Each of the images has some kind of idea that the members wanted to present to the public. It should be entertaining to try and figure some of those puzzles out. Try not to miss any of the small details. We looked for fresh ideas and images. Instead of working with famous artists and photographers, we worked with up-and-coming talents with new ideas.”

SHINee’s new album ‘Dream Girl‘ will include two parts: ‘Chapter 1. Dream Girl – The Misconceptions Of You‘ and ‘Chapter 2. Dream GIrl – The Misconceptions of Me‘. ‘Chapter 1′ will be revealed on February 19th through various online music sites, and the boys will make their comeback on the 21st through Mnet‘s ‘M! Countdown‘.

SHINee preview 6 of 9 songs from ‘Dream Girl’ through ‘Melon Premiere SHINee Music Spoiler’

SHINee previewed 6 out of 9 songs from their upcoming album ‘Dream Girl‘.
On the 14th, the boys held their ‘Melon Premiere SHINee Music Spoiler‘. The event ran for about 1 hour, and revealed 6 out of the 9 songs. The tracklist was also revealed, which included the songs “Spoiler“, “Beautiful“, “I Can’t Leave“, and “Hitchhiking“. The boys revealed the song and lyrics for the songs, and even sang “I Can’t Leave” live. The 100 music reviewers present also gave a very warm response to the song.

SHINee also revealed the choreography for the title song “Dream Girl“. As said before, the title song “Dream Girl” is an acid electro funk song, and is produced by Justin Bieber’s producerShin Hyuk and his team Joombas Music Factory. The big point of the dance was their standing mic dance. They got on top of mics, and even twirled them around in sync. The making of music video also showed them jumping on trampolines and using running machines.

The visual art director stated, “The album jacket shows the fantasies of the members. It has the members’ own images and the ideal types they look for. Please break your misconceptions and prior judgement you have on SHINee.”
SHINee revealed, “It’s our first full album that we’re releasing in a while, so we worked really hard. Minho and Key worked on the rap, Jonghyun worked on the lyrics, and Taemin worked on the choreography. The members all worked on the vocal parts. We all know each other well, so we were able to complete the best product.”
