U-KISS, ZE:A Five, Davichi and More to Take K-Pop to South America

Chile will be hosting a large-scale K-Pop performance to fan the flames of the K-Pop boom sweeping through the region.

On May 19, the I Love K-Pop with Friends event will take place in Santiago′s largest dome, the Movistar Arena. The event will feature U-KISS, ZE:A Five, After School, Davichi, AA, Sunny Hill, RaNia and more.

It will be hosted by the production company TWEG, with former Mnet CEO and current dean of Seoul Arts - Occupational Training College, Kim Jong Jin, as its director.

The event will even be expanding into a full-fledged tour, going to Peru in August, Mexico in September, Brazil in October and Uruguay in November.

It will also be aired on TV through Mega TV.

U-KISS’ Soohyun enrolls at Paichai University

U-KISS‘ Soohyun will be attending Paichai University!

He visited the school on March 12 and spent time eating and talking with professors and the school President. The professors gave him a tour of the campus, and they talked about how his college life would be. Soohyun was his usual charming and witty self even with the professors, and they liked him immediately and couldn’t stop laughing throughout their conversation. They also noted that Soohyun greeted everyone he met politely.



Soohyun also received a scholarship to the university. Photos of the leader of U-KISS visiting the college were uploaded onto the school’s blog and Twitter, where they shared, “Soohyun the leader of U-KISS, who was awarded the Hallyu Special Achievement Award from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism last year, has enrolled at our Paichai University. On March 12, Tuesday, he visited the school and spent a great time with the President and the professors. He looks even cooler up close in person. :D During the day, we introduced the school and talked about his future college life. We’re looking forward to him being a student at Paichai University! Because Soohyun was so bright and cheerful, the President and the professors couldn’t stop smiling. We can’t help but remember how Soohyun was so polite that he greeted everyone that he saw. We’re looking forward to Soohyun because he works passionately at whatever he does. It was nice meeting you!!”

U-KISS’ Soohyun celebrates his birthday

Soohyun from boy band U-KISS recently celebrated his 25th birthday, and despite being swamped with “Standing Still” promotions, his fellow members took some time to celebrate the leader on his big day!

“To our lovable leader Soohyun hyung!!!” Kiseop posted to his Twitter, along with a photo of a birthday cake. “Really truly congratulations for your birthday♡ I love you >_____<”

AJ also posted, “It’s our Shun-leader birthday?! ㅋㅋ Happy birthday! Don’t be sick and stay healthy!”

Kevin simply posted a hashtag that had been trending at #1 on Twitter earlier – #UKISSSoohyunDay. Meanwhile, Hoon posted another angle of the festive birthday cake, which featured a likeness of the birthday boy along with colorful letters that spelled out ‘SOOHYUN’. Eli kept his message short, simply saying, “Happy Birthday @ukissSH !!!!!^^”.

Although he’s already received plenty of goodwill for his big 2-5, we’re sure he could use a little more – happy birthday, Soohyun!

U-KISS gather together for a hilarious group shot

The members of U-KISS recently gathered together for a hilarious group shot in the car on the way to their scheduled destination.

Soohyun shared on his Twitter on the 6th, “u~~~~~~~kiss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone’s here, everyone’s here kekeke”, along with the photo above.

The photo shows the U-KISS members smiling and making funny faces to the camera. But the funniest face of all belonged to Dongho (on the far right) who has fallen asleep with his head turned back and mouth wide open. After seeing Dongho in such a state, fans burst into laughter at his adorable way of sleeping.

In other news, U-KISS will be making their Korean comeback this March!

U-KISS to make a comeback with a new album this March

It has been announced that U-KISS will  be making their Korean comeback this coming March!

For their return, the boys will be collaborating with composer Kim Hyung Suk once again to greet eagerly awaiting fans.

A representative revealed on the 30th, “Talented Kim Hyung Suk, Ryan Jhun, and other producers that they previously worked with participated in the new album and the recording was completed. U-KISS started actively promoting in Japan last year, and as a tour is also planned, they will simultaneously conduct their Korean and Japanese activities.”

U-KISS reveals teaser trailer for upcoming Japanese single “ALONE”

Earlier in the month, we reported that U-KISS will be releasing a new Japanese single in February. Christmas came a little early for KISSME‘s as a teaser trailer for “ALONE” was unveiled on the Avex‘s official YouTube channel.

According to the group’s official Japanese site, the single will consist of four tracks, including “ALONE” and its instrumental. The accompanying track is currently an unnamed song and the instrumental version of the unnamed song will be included as well.

U-KISS reveals Soohyun & Kevin’s teaser images for ‘STOP GIRL’

U-KISS has released ‘STOP GIRL‘ teaser images for Soohyun and Kevin.

After releasing their digital single “Cinderella“ last week, the group is now preparing for the release of their 7th mini-album ‘STOP GIRL‘. The teasers, including Eli and Kiseop‘s teaser images and the group image, were all taken on the set of their upcoming music video.

‘STOP GIRL’ is set to release on September 20 KST.
