MBLAQ′s Mir is Forced to Change Scary Profile Image

MBLAQ′s Mir had to change the picture he had put up on his portal site profiles after it swept the web.

His picture, from the teaser for MBLAQ′s new single Smoky Girl, had gone viral after some netizens thought it was too scary with the color lenses.

A rep from J Tune Camp said about the new issue on June 10, "We′re surprised, but we believe [it went viral] thanks to the attention of the public. We changed the profile image to a photo that is to be included in the offline album to be released tomorrow. Please continue to show your interest in MBLAQ′s Mir onstage and in variety."

In the new photo, Mir holds up a milky snake, staring at the camera with his own dark eyes.

The offline version of MBLAQ′s Sexy Beat as been released on June 11.

MBLAQ’s Cheon Dung and Mir Talk about Their Sisters′ Beauty

Known to have pretty older sisters, MBLAQ’s Cheon Dung and Mir talked about 2NE1’s Sandara Park and actress Ko Eun A.

On June 10, MBLAQ appeared as guests on Mnet’s The Beatles Code, where Cheon Dung and Mir were asked about their famous older sisters.

The two MBLAQ members were asked to honestly rate their sisters’ beauty, and Cheon Dung shared that he currently lives with his family.

“When I see her at home, I don’t really think that she’s pretty, but when I see her amongst other celebrities, she becomes very pretty,” said Cheon Dung, making the MCs joke that it must be because all the other celebrities are drop-dead ugly. Cheon Dunq quickly said, “Even though she’s surrounded by very pretty people, my sister looked really beautiful.”

In complete contrast to Cheon Dung’s praises towards Sandara Park, Mir was straightforward and direct, saying, “My sister is the worst of the worst.”

He added that he never thought that Ko Eun A was ever pretty. “When my mom sees my sister at home, she even says, ‘Look at that beggar over there.’”

SISTAR’s Bora does MBLAQ’s Mir a favor on ‘Real Men’

MBLAQ‘s Mir owed a debt of gratitude to SISTAR‘s Bora on the latest episode of MBC‘s ‘Real Men‘.

On the newest broadcast of the army variety program, the six cast members continued their training as part of a real-life army training experience.

Following the conclusion of training for the day, their fellow army recruits were entranced by Mir’s notebook, which contained phone numbers of many female idols. In order to win them over to his side, Mir promised to call one of them and let them hear their voices.

Although he called KARA‘s Nicole first, she didn’t pick up the phone, to the great dismay of the clustered testosterone-fueled recruits. Other phone calls to SISTAR’s Bora and Soyu also went unanswered.

In increasing desperation, he muttered, “I’m wondering if I should move my target to [comedian] Jo Hye Ryun instead”,

However, SISTAR’s Bora finally returned his phone call, making Mir breathe a sigh of relief. He turned her over to the squad leader, who could barely contain his glee as he talked with Bora over the phone.

“Bora, thanks to you, my stay in the army is going to be comfortable,” Mir told her through a video message afterwards. “I’ll call you when I leave.”

Mir becomes the hero of the army in ‘Real Men’

MBLAQ‘s Mir became the real hero of the army in ‘Real Men‘!

The new variety show features celebrities actually enlisting in the army and going through the same rigorous training that real soldiers receive. On the 21st’s episode, Mir snatched the attention of his seniors by revealing, “I wrote down the numbers of all the girl group members I know in a notebook“.

He revealed the notebook and read down his list, which included 4minute‘s Jihyun, SISTAR‘s Soyu and Bora, Rainbow‘s Jaekyung, and Girls’ Generation‘s Taeyeon, and his seniors couldn’t help but yell in excitement.

But he struck the final blow when he said, “SISTAR’s Soyu and Bora said they’ll come visit no matter what“, instantly upgrading him from the new recruit up to the hero status.

In other ‘Real Men’ news, there are reports that Mir has decided not to leave the show and will be continuing with recordings. We will keep you updates with this new turn of events.

MBLAQ’s Mir to rejoin ‘Real Men’

Mir will be rejoining the MBC show ‘Real Men‘!

He considered leaving the show because of his back issues along with MBLAQ‘s plans to make a comeback soon, but Mir ultimately made the decision to rejoin the show. 

MBC said, “Mir has decided to rejoin ‘Real Men’. He’ll be returning to the filming set tomorrow. His schedule was organized well, and he decided to stay on the show because of his own motivation.”

The new variety show features celebrities actually enlisting in the army and going through the same rigorous training that real soldiers receive. The 2nd episode aired on April 21 and enjoyed a rating of 9.9%.

MBLAQ‘s Mir hinted that MBLAQ was going to have a comeback soon!

MBLAQ was one of the boy groups rumored to comeback in May. According to music insiders, their new title track has already been selected and it’s just a matter of time before their return as they’re currently deciding on the specific comeback time period.

Mir seems to be confirming that comeback, as he tweeted, “Really soon, we’re gonna have a comeback!! It’s going to be so fun!! Coming soon~!!!!“.

On April 8, MBLAQ revealed the full PV for Mona Lisa, Japanese version on its official Youtube page.

Compared to the first music video released in 2011, the members appeared a lot more mature and masculine as they flaunted off their still awesome dancing skills with upgraded charisma that′s bound to take your breath away.

MBLAQ‘s Mir and Seungho collaborated with SISTAR‘s Soyu on the latest ‘Immortal Song 2‘.

For the March 16th episode, the three idols covered the ‘immortal’ song “You Like Me, I Like You“. Seungho stated, “To be honest, I got a little greedy for today. The light switched off on us last week, and it didn’t feel good,” expressing that he felt disappointed about the MBLAQ team losing on the previous broadcast.

Seungho prepared a piano performance, while Mir added a smooth rap and Soyu wowed the crowd with her signature vocals.

However, WAX was able to receive more points, and Lee Ji Hyung took home the trophy for his first stage on the show.

On the latest episode of ‘Immortal Song 2‘, Mir and Soyu confessed that they do get jealous of their members’ success.

When MC Moon Hee Jun asked SISTAR‘s Soyu, “When SISTAR19 wins #1, do you get jealous and think, ‘I should also form a sub-unit with Dasom’?” Soyu replied, “Although I do get a bit jealous, if SISTAR19 gets #1 I also become teary.”

Moon Hee Jun also asked Mir, “If a good article about Lee Joon appears, how do you feel?”, to which MBLAQ‘s Mir confessed, “I don’t feel very good. I tell him, ‘I don’t want to look at it’. MBLAQ takes on three different looks for the album jackets of Japanese single “Mona Lisa”

MBLAQ has taken on three different looks for the three album jackets of their Japanese single, ”Mona Lisa“, leaving fans saying, “oh yeah”, as they pick and choose their favorite!

As typical of most Japanese releases, there will be several versions of the single including two limited editions and one regular edition. So for each edition comes a new jacket; the boys sport a tough, charismatic look in all black ensembles for the first one, a preppy, boy-next-door image for the second, and finally a fun and funky look for the third version.

Their Japanese label explained the concept behind the photos stating, “The black represents their powerful performances on stage, and the white and vivid colors represent their kind and lively image when they’re not on stage.” 

MBLAQ will release their 3rd Japanese single on March 27th, so you have plenty of time to debate with yourself about whether to pick one, or you know, just splurge on all three to your wallet’s dismay.

Why did MBLAQ’s Seungho and Mir visit ‘Inkigayo’?

MBLAQ hasn’t promoted a song since “Run“, so the boys have been quite absent from the broadcast stations.

However, the boys paid a special visit to ‘Inkigayo‘ to cheer on their hoobae labelmates TWO X. J.Tune Camp tweeted a photo of the two MBLAQ members and TWO X in cute yellow stage outfits from the ‘Inkigayo’ backstage, writing, “#MBLAQ #TwoX Seungho and Mir appeared at the SBS Deungchon Hall, where SBS ‘Inkigayo’ was held!! MBLAQ’s Mir gets tricked by a hidden camera prank on ‘All the K-Pop’ and sheds tears

On the February 19th broadcast of MBC Music‘s ‘All the K-pop‘, MC Mir got tricked by a hidden camera prank and was brought to tears.

During the hidden camera event set up, a fortune teller purposely gave Mir a false fortune and stated, “If you didn’t become a celebrity, you were destined to become a shaman.” Another fortune teller followed along on the prank and spooked Mir by telling him, “I feel the energy of a snake ghost coming from Mir”, which especially freaked him out because he recently came back from a real-life jungle while recording for ‘Laws of the Jungle‘. 

The serious atmosphere on set seemed to be too much for Mir to handle in addition to his fright and the filming was momentarily stopped.

After shedding tears backstage, Mir responded, “This is my first time being surprised by a hidden camera. Because I heard stories of snake ghosts after filming ‘Laws of the Jungle’, I didn’t suspect anything at all.”

Labelmates, MBLAQ and rookie group Two X, are here to greet fans before the Lunar New Year!

Dressed in colorful hanbok the two groups take on a softer image than their usual powerful stage concepts.

Along with the photos,Seungho, G.O, Jiyou, and Minjoo have also offered their greetings to the public as the holiday approaches.

Seungho commented, “The New Year is bright. First is health! Second is also health! Everyone be healthy and receive lots of luck in the New Year.” His fellow member G.O shared, “First, receive lots of luck in the New Year!! I’m missing all our fans like crazy. Mir eats a caterpillar on ‘Laws of the Jungle’

MBLAQ‘s Mir became a true ‘jungle-idol‘.

On the January 11th episode of ‘Laws of the Jungle‘, Mir was munching on sugar cane for the water content inside the plant. However, while he was doing this he suddenly screamed. When attention was focused on him, he said, “I wondered why the sugar cane tasted weird, and I realized there was a caterpillar in the sugar cane“, and showed the other members the half-eaten caterpillar.

Instead of being grossed out, he decided to pick up the rest of the caterpillar and suck on it as if it were candy and then ate it, shocking everyone. Even Kim Byung Man, who ate whatever he could, said, “I’ve only managed to eat cooked caterpillars before…“.

MBLAQ‘s endorsement brought a 30% rise in sales for LECAF.

MBLAQ was recently chosen as the models for the sports brand and they were seen wearing goose down jackets, shoes, backpack, and windbreakers for LECAF’s new school year line. After their endorsement, LECAF recorded a 30% increase in their projected sales for the year. After ‘Section TV‘ aired BTS scenes of MBLAQ filming for the brand, more fans all over the country rushed to buy the products.

The MBLAQ goose down jacket is for men, but the product is highly popular not only to the targeted male segment but also high school female students. It is currently popular for girls to be wearing sizes larger than their actual size, and fans are looking for MBLAQ’s jacket to fit this trend. MBLAQ’s Mir confesses that he lied to his mother about how much money he has

MBLAQ‘s Mir confessed of a lie that he once told to his mother.

On the December 18th episode of ‘Strong Heart‘, he confessed, “There’s a lie I told my mother. She always tells me that she wishes I would have savings of 1 billion KRW (approximately $932,000 USD). One time on the phone, I told her, ‘I think I’m going to reach around 1 billion KRW because of MBLAQ’s South American Tour’. She suddenly screamed and hung up on me. I found out that she called everyone and invited them to go on shopping spree because I had 1 billion KRW.”

Unfortunately he didn’t have 1 billion KRW.

Mir continued, “She still thinks I have 1 billion KRW. I want to say now that it’s not true. But I do have a lot of money saved up, so I promise to save up to 1 billion KRW in my savings and give it to you.“
