Idol group U-KISS recently paid a visit to Cambodia along with an NGO volunteer organization.
The boys landed at the Phnom Penh airport past at midnight, but the
airport was jam-packed with fans who wanted to get a glimpse of their
favorite Hallyu star.
Cambodia is an area that is just beginning to catch a few waves of Hallyu, and fan bases are beginning to form very naturally.
Being the first K-Pop act to visit Cambodia, the media outlets were
scrambling to get their fix of the U-KISS boys. While the members were
there, there were constantly long lines of reporters waiting for them
day after day, and reports related to U-KISS were released and
broadcasted ceaselessly. Furthermore, the Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen along with his family were also out on site, proving U-KISS’ explosive fame in the local area.
At the fan meeting that was held on a Cambodian national holiday
(June 18th), 5,000 audience members filled the venue and a few hundred
Cambodian members of U-KISS’ fanclub ‘KISSME‘ were also present.
In related news, U-KISS who is currently promoting new title song “Believe”
will be returning to Korea and focus on Korean promotions until the end
of the month. Starting in July, the boys will officially launch their
9-city Japan Tour.
