Onew Finds His Long Lost Twin Brother?

SHINee‘s leader Onew recently recorded his cameo appearance on KBS 2TV‘s sitcom drama “Pure Love.” 

On April 29, staff of KBS 2TV’s “Pure Love” announced through a news portal site that “Onew finished his recording for ‘Pure Love’ today! He will be starring as Lee Won Geun’s older cousin.”

On that same day, the PD of “Pure Love” tweeted, “Onew will be appearing on the next episode of ‘Pure Love.’ He will be playing as Choi Joon Young’s (who plays the role of Lee Won Geun) older cousin! But wow, they really look alike!” and shared the following photo.

In the photo, Onew has his script in his arms while Choi Joon Young poses behind him with two V-signs. The two stars look adorable and remarkably identical in appearance, enough to look related that is!

The episode where Onew makes his cameo appearance is scheduled to air on May 10.

Onew to make a cameo on sitcom ‘A Bit of Love’

SHINee‘s Onew will make a cameo appearance on KBS‘s sitcom, ‘A Bit of Love‘!

The director of the sitcom, Kwon Jae Young, tweeted the above picture of Onew with actor Lee Won Geun and wrote, “Onew will be appearing on ‘A Bit of Love’. A surprise appearance as Lee Won Geun’s cousin! The two really look alike.”

Onew apparently completed filming for his portion on the 29th, and the episode with his appearance will be broadcast on May 10th.

As part of the Seoul Girls Collection 2013, SHINee performed as the final act on April 6, closing out a show that attempted to bring together fashion, music and media.

Onew Loves His Fried Chicken

SHINee‘s leader Onew was recently caught on camera stuffing his cute face. 

The staff of MBC‘s “Weekly Idol” shared comical and adorable photos of Onew with the caption, “For being too busy eating to notice anything else, Onew passes.”

In the photos, Onew is seen first eating fried chicken while seated at a table and then on his knees while the other members are busy filming. Just the sight of Onew too hungry to really give much attention to anything else brought humor to the set.

SHINee’s Onew kneels down for chicken on ‘Weekly Idol’

Onew proved that for chicken, he had no problem kneeling down!

The boys of SHINee recently filmed for MBC Every1‘s ’Weekly Idol‘. Weekly Idol’s official Twitter tweeted, “For now, just pass Onew since he’s busy in his dining room~” and posted a set of pictures of Onew chomping down on chicken as the rest of the SHINee members keep themselves busy conversing with the MCs.

In the first set of photos, Onew goes through the chicken like a normal person, sitting down on the chair and eating normally.

However, he must have decided that the desk was too uncomfortable, because he went down to the ground on his knees so he could devour it more easily.

SHINee’s Onew Reveals How Old and Young He Will Date

Awesome news for anyone interested in dating the idol!

SHINee’s leader Onew made a guest appearance with member Key on SBS’s variety program “One Thousand Songs Challenge.”

On this day, MC Lee Hwi Jae asked, “It seems like you’re very popular with the older ladies, but how much older will you date?”

Onew replied, “I’m able to date someone up to ten years older.” To this, many noona fans in the audience cheered. He also included, “I can also date someone up to fifteen years younger. However, many are currently underage so it’s not possible at the moment.”

Meanwhile, Onew was currently in the spotlight for various scandals from giving the finger on a radio program, rumor spreading that he’s dating After School’s Jungah and smoking an electronic cigarette.

SHINee‘s Onew had the hearts of noona (older sister) fans beating just a little bit faster with his recent revelation on the March 31st broadcast of SBS‘ ‘1000 Song Challenge‘.

Onew Gets Swept Up in Another Controversy for Smoking Electronic Cigarettes

SHINee‘s Onew is caught up in yet another controversy and this time, it’s regarding him smoking electronic cigarettes.

On March 25, dating rumors of Onew and After School’s Jungah re-sparked after a few photos of the two together were taken at Apgu-jung.

In a couple of the pictures, netizens pointed out that Onew was smoking an electronic cigarette. Opinions have been split over this matter.


Some netizens have been defending Onew by saying, “He’s an adult, who cares,” “This is more shocking than the dating rumor but I understand,” “He’s an adult, he wasn’t on broadcast so who cares,” and more.

Pledis Entertainment denies dating rumors between SHINee’s Onew and After School’s Jung Ah

After paparazzi captured shots of SHINee‘s Onew and After School‘s Jung Ah sitting inside a car together and exiting a restaurant, rumors have flared that the two idols were in a relationship with each other.

However, in a press release distributed just a few minutes ago, Jung Ah’s agency, Pledis Entertainment, denied all charges of a relationship between the two idols.

“The two of them are merely close friends, not dating,” they said, denying the reports. “As fellow entertainment workers, Jung Ah and Onew have a close relationship where they advise each other. Today, their schedules matched so they were only enjoying a light meal together, and weren’t dating like media agencies have reported.”

Earlier, Korean media agency Kuki News ran an exclusive report along with pictures, quoting a close friend with the two idols that “they have been dating for one year”.

SM Entertainment responds to criticisms against Onew giving the middle finger

With the heated attention of netizens on SHINee‘s Onew after seeing the idol giving the middle finger during a radio broadcast, SM Entertainment has responded to the criticisms.

As mentioned before, on the March 18th broadcast of ‘Younha’s Starry Night‘, the SHINee members featured as guests, and during the introduction segment, Onew’s hand was spotted on the screen during the filming of the radio program. This led many to express their disappointment and question why the idol had given the middle finger when cameras were rolling.

Although it turns out Onew and his members were just playing around before they officially started their talk segments on the radio program when the hand gesture came about, SM Entertainment didn’t make any excuses and simply commented, “Whatever the reason is, it was the wrong thing to do. Onew is self-reflecting. He will be more careful in the future.”

Netizens take notice of SHINee’s Onew giving the middle finger during radio broadcast

Although there are those who pay no attention to the overly used middle finger, there are also those who take it as no laughing matter. Thus, it is not surprising that SHINee‘s Onew‘s recent appearance on a radio broadcast has sparked some criticism.

On the March 18th broadcast of ‘Younha’s Starry Night‘, Some of the SHINee members featured as guests to talk about their comeback and touch upon various subjects. Prior to the members’ introductions, their faces were not shown during this particular segment on camera, but netizens spotted someone giving his middle finger on screen. The color and print of the mystery man’s outfit later pointed the identity to Onew, raising eyebrows.

Netizens flocked to the comment boards and expressed their shock responding, “Since it is a radio broadcast that can be seen, it was careless of him to stick up the middle finger”, “Why is he doing that when he knows there is a camera?”, “I don’t know if it’s because Onew always had an innocent image, but I’m disappointed”, “Can it really be Onew?” and more.

However, there were others that came to his defense with comments like, “Isn’t he just joking around? He probably didn’t realize that could be seen”, “It seems like Onew was just playing around with his members”, “It might just be another sign that shows just how close he is with his members” and more.

As you know, this isn’t the first time that an idol star was criticized for giving the middle finger as of recently, as Jay Park previously received backlash for his Instagram picture.

Onew has a case of ‘Onew Condition’ on Twitter

Most Shawol’s are familiar with the term ‘Onew Condition‘ – for those who aren’t, it’s when the leader of SHINee finds himself in a hilariously awkward situation that he usually creates for himself.

Well, the ‘Onew Condition’ has struck again! While idols tweeting their thoughts and talking to each other on Twitter are common, Onew has brought a new type into the mix: a conversation with himself. 

The conversation started innocently enough when he tweeted, “I remembered. I get surprised because my hands are cold“. In a bizarre turn of events, perhaps to explain himself, he talked to himself and wrote, “No, no. Someone asked me if I can’t touch radishes..“.

He continued on by replying to himself again as he wrote, “My knees mind is blown“, and then replied again, “No, no. It’s not that it hurts ㅠㅜ“. He finally concluded the strange conversation with “I don’t know. Good night^^^^^^^^^^^^“.

SHINee wants to be good role models for rookie artists

Backstage at KBS 2TV‘s ‘Music Bank‘ on the 22nd, SHINee‘s Minho opened up about his group’s latest comeback.

Minho shared, “I think we came back with a bit of nervousness due to the pressure to excel. Although ['Dream Girl'] is good, it is more spectacular when you see it with the performance. I think more people will like it after seeing us perform. Rather than trying to go above people’s expectations, we are trying to show a new style of performance.”

To make up for SHINee’s 11-month hiatus, Minho shared his plans to be active in Korea until fans eventually get sick of him (if that’s ever possible) and revealed, “We plan to conduct many activities in Korea this year. I personally want to do a lot of it. We plan to perform in Korea until people get tired of us and say ‘why don’t you start performing overseas?”

Minho also wants to be a role model for rookie singers stating, “Upon seeing more and more rookie singers, I think to myself ‘I should work harder and show a better side’ so that we can hear that we’re good seniors and we want to be good role models.” 

It seems SHINee have already accomplished their goal of becoming good examples by recently proving why they’re masters on stage.

Onew ranks himself the __ best looking SHINee member

SHINee‘s Onew ranked himself 4th in terms of looks.

On the February 23rd’s airing of ‘Entertainment Relay‘, SHINee, who has returned with their third album, featured as guests on the ‘Guerrilla Date‘ segment.

The show used a lie detector to squeeze out the SHINee members true feelings. Using the lie detector, Onew was asked if he ranks his looks low among the SHINee members. He replied, “That’s true.”

The members cheered as the lie detector showed that his answer was true and Onew confessed, “I think I rank 4th in terms of looks.”

On another note, Onew must have had too much fun as he laughed himself to tears, causing others to laughs with him.

SHINee take over fashion magazines

SHINee isn’t just sweeping the music scene with their “Dream Girl” comeback.

The boys became young rebels for the Marsh issue of Nylon, where they opened up about things they regret on set. Even though the concept was something the boys have never done before, they had no problem expertly leading the photo shoot.

SHINee also scored a 16-page spread in ‘L’Officiel Hommes‘, where they tossed aside the boyish, innocent image they took on for Nylon and and went for a completely masculine look instead. Jonghyun even had the chance to bear his abs, while Minho showed off his own arm muscles.

Onew ranks the SHINee members in terms of looks

SHINee‘s Onew ranked the group’s members in terms of looks.

The boys had a preview event with Melon titled ‘SHINee Music Spoiler‘ for their upcoming album. During the event, Onew was asked, “Who do you think is the best looking in SHINee?” Onew ranked the members from the best to worst looking, putting Key at first, then Taemin, Jonghyun, Onew himself, and then lastly Minho.

Minho was upset that he ranked last, and Onew explained, “Compared to my face, there’s nothing to criticize about his, so I just wanted to find something.” Key was embarrassed by the ranking, commenting, “I feel like this ranking isn’t really fair.”

As always, Onew had something up his sleeve. He said, “Now move 5th place up to 1st place. How does that feel? It’s good, right?” Minho was immediately cheered up by the switch in rankings and gave Onew a high five. Minho laughed and said, “Did my expression change too much? I’m so happy.”
