DMTN’s Daniel attends 2nd court hearing

DMTN‘s Daniel quietly attended his 2nd court hearing for the marijuana related charges.

The hearing took place in the morning of May 9 at the Seongnam Branch of Suwon District Court. As with the first hearing, Daniel apologized for his charges and attended the hearing with four people that were indicted along with his lawyer.

Bianca Mobley from ‘Global Talk Show - Chat With Beauties‘ was not present for the second time, and instead her lawyer said, “We received a phone call from Bianca’s mother. Bianca is very sick, so she’ll definitely attend next month.” The court was not amused with her second absence, saying, “Lately, it looks like the court is looked down upon. We already gave Bianca one chance. This is not a hearing just for herself. If she does not appear next time, we will issue a warrant for her arrest and she’ll be placed on a wanted list.”

The third hearing will take place on June 4 at 2PM at the same court.

DMTN’s Daniel + 4 others attend first hearing for marijuana related charges

DMTN‘s Daniel and the four others indicted by the prosecution regarding their various marijuana charges attended their first hearing in court today.

The hearing took place on the 30th at 10:50 AM, and Daniel is said to have admitted to all his charges with a solemn expression. It is also said that in addition to aiding in the distribution, the idol also admitted to smoking marijuana.

As he emerged after the hearing, he bowed his head as he said “I’m sorry” to the press gathered outside. When someone asked, “Do you admit to all your charges?” He responded, “Yes”, and left the scene with his agency staff and lawyers.

4 others who attended the hearing with Daniel include the English academy teacher (age 24), son of a famous actor (age 23), makeup artist (age 33), and former academy teacher (age 21).

The other named celebrity involved, Bianca from ‘Global Talk Show - Chat With Beauties‘, was not present at the hearing today.

As mentioned previously, the 6 involved grew close because of their experience of attending school in the U.S., and have been accused of supplying, distributing, or using marijuana. 

The English academy teacher supplied the marijuana to Daniel 15 times, which was then introduced to the others by Daniel, who acted as the link between the English academy teacher and the others involved.

The second hearing will take place during the first week of May

DMTN’s Daniel steps down as an MC on ‘Pops in Seoul’

DMTN‘s Daniel will be stepping down as an MC on Arirang TV‘s ‘Pops in Seoul‘.

He’s been recently swept up in a marijuana scandal and his label said, “He is currently reflecting on his actions, he will be leaving ‘Pops in Seoul’, which he has been with for over a year.”

Following Daniel’s initial police investigation, DMTN’s label had commented, “We have not yet received the final ruling on Daniel’s involvement. However, Daniel wants to pay the consequences and carry out the punishment dealt to him for his wrongdoing… For the time being, we are currently looking for individual activities the members can carry out without Daniel. For the members who are currently already carrying out activities, they will be continuing with them.”

So will there or will there not be individual activities for DMTN? Confusion solved + TVReport asked to change article

Yesterday, a Korean media outlet ‘TVReport‘ had posted an article with a statement from a rep of DMTN‘s agency, 2Works, that mentioned individual activities for the group’s members, with the exception of Daniel.

The article included a quote that had stated, “For the time being, we are currently looking for individual activities for the members with the exception of Daniel. The members currently carrying out activities will continue with them.”

However, after this Korean article was released and translated, DMTN’s official Google+ accused international Kpop news sites of “mistranslation“, and that they had never said there were going to be individual activities. Stressing “No individual activities (except Inati’s) will be held”, leading to confusion among fans.

It seems all this confusion came as those behind the official Google+ page were unaware of 2Works‘ rep’s quote reported in the Korean media. They apparently only became aware about the quoted statements in the TVReport article after their initial post and some fans had pointed this out to them in the comments.

Not too long after that, TVReport suddenly released a new article with the same exact title, same exact words, except for the removal of one sentence and the addition of a new one.

The removed sentence was none other than the one about looking for individual activities. Now that specific sentence has been replaced by another one, and the full sentence reads, “For the time being, it’s hard to make any decisions until Daniel’s trial is over. The members currently carrying out activities will continue with them.”

The administrators of the Google+ page then replied to a fan, commenting, “There must have been miscommunications. I just called the reporter and talked about the sentence. It will be revised soon.”

They then further stressed, “WE HAVE NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT GROUP ACTIVITIES WITHOUT DANNY EVEN HAVEN’T MENTIONED ABOUT IT,” and that they wouldn’t be updating their post to prevent fans from getting the wrong idea.

Thus, it seems with the exception of Inati, we will not be seeing temporary individual activities either from the members until everything has been settled.

SHINee’s Minho, ZE:A’s Dongjun, DMTN’s Simon, and BTOB’s Minhyuk show no mercy during hurdles finals

SHINee‘s Minho, ZE:A‘s Dongjun, DMTN‘s Simon, and BTOB‘s Minhyuk put on one of the fiercest competition of the Idol Star Athletics Championship during the 70m hurdles race!

Minho, known for his extremely athletic abilities and competitive spirit, has a history dominating the hurdles race, and he was again the favorite to win gold. He however expressed his nervousness in competing against Simon and Dongjun, who have been his rivals since previous times. 


In the beginning of the race, Minho jumped a bit too early probably due to nerves, and his early jump caused him to land prematurely and trip over the hurdle, putting him out of the contending for a medal. His disqualification shocked everyone, including the professional commentators, who had expected Minho to win the event, and instead, underdog, rookie Minhyuk, came in to steal the show.

Host and fellow labelmate, B2ST‘s Yoseob had viewers laughing as he commented, “I never knew someone from our agency would win a gold medal.” He also asked Minhyuk to ask their CEO for a favor, and when Minhyuk simply asked their boss to use BTOB for as many opportunities as he could, Yoseob whispered, “No, you’re going to be used anyways, ask for something more.. like meat, ask for meat.”  

Minhyuk then asked, “Actually, could you treat all of us out to a meal?” pleasing his fellow labelmates.

DMTN’s Daniel also involved in an accident during filming for MBC’s ‘Idol Star Athletics Championship’

DMTN‘s Daniel has also been involved in an accident during MBC‘s ‘Idol Star Athletics Championship’ recording.

During the preliminary race for the male 70 meter dash Daniel tripped and fell. He quickly got up and finished the match with a limping leg. However, he was taken off the field to get treated when he showed signs of pain even after the match ended.

Prior to Daniel’s injury, Sistar‘s Bora was also involved in an accident during a preliminary match for the female idols’ 70 meter dash.

Hope both Daniel and Bora have a speedy recovery!

More details have been dropped about the upcoming comeback from DMTN (formerly known as Dalmatian)!

As fans know, the group has been revealing individual teaser videos and photos the past few days hinting at their upcoming return.

For those of you who are confused about the name change, the group is now going by DMTN, which are the initials of Dalmatian, that now also stands for the words ‘Desire, Motivation, Timing, Now‘. The agency explained the change in the name, commenting, “It is unheard of for a group who is promoting to change their name. However, it was a decision that was made after much thought to give off a different and more mature image than the original Dalmatian.” Member Daniel is said to have come up with the words that DMTN stands for himself, making the name even more special.

So along with the new name comes a new digital single, which will be dropping on the 29th! The single is said to be titled “Safety Zone“, and is a medium-tempo track that is once again the work of Duble Sidekick, who worked with the boys for “E.R“.

Rumors of a Dalmatian comeback appear to have been true. Just moments ago, the group’s new agency, 2Works Entertainment, released not only a music video teaser, but also several photos featuring member Daniel.

Having parted ways with MC Mong‘s company back in November, it’s a bit surprising that the group is already set for a comeback. However, by the looks of these first teasers, it will be an impressive comeback indeed.

F.Cuz and Dalmatian successfully wrap up joint concert in Japan through ‘Cooperation Live [Knock]‘

F.Cuz and Dalmatian successfully wrapped up their joint concert through ‘Cooperation Live [Knock]‘ on the 6th at Zepp Diver City, Tokyo.

F.Cuz opened the stage with “NO. 1” and “Rise Up“, and performed a total of 8 tracks for fans. F.Cuz’s Yejun shared, “I’m thankful that a lot of people came. Let’s have fun til the end.”

Dalmatian then went on to perform eight songs as well including “Round 1” and “E.R“. Member Youngwon expressed his excitement and stated, “I’m so thrilled that I get to meet you all again like this.” 

F.Cuz and Dalmatian also came to the stage as one and performed a joint-performance of Big Bang‘s “Fantastic Baby” and Japanese band Arashi‘s “My Girl“.

The ‘Cooperation Live [Knock]‘ concert series, which has been designed to showcase a new type of live performance of K-pop artists, was also held on December 3rd as well as the 4th in Osaka and Nagoya.

Dalmatian to leave MC Mong’s label and prepare for a new start

Dalmatian will be leaving MC Mong‘s IS Entermedia Group.

The group’s contract with IS Entermedia Group has expired, and they have signed with a new label named Two Walks Entertainment.

IS Entermedia Group had previously housed others such as MC Mong, Shin Jung Hwan, SG Wannabe, and MayBee. However, it has been revealed that the artists whose contracts expired did not renew their contracts with the company and decided to look elsewhere. Currently, only MC Mong and Shin Jung Hwan are currently under contract with the label.

A representative from Dalmatian said, “Dalmatian will be putting their all into a comeback early next year with a new album.”

Dalmatian’s Daniel models a Louis Vuitton coat for ‘L’Officiel Hommes’

Dalmatian‘s Daniel has transformed into an homme fatal in his latest pictorial with ‘L’Officiel Hommes‘ men’s magazine.

Representatives of the magazine explained, “While preparing the pictorial, we discovered the hidden potential of Dalmatian’s Daniel and chose him as one of our models.”

Daniel captivated everyone on set with his muscular body, which is the work of years of swimming and working out. He earned the praise of the staff for his natural, modern poses, as well as his hidden potential as a model in the way he pulled off a Louis Vuitton coat costing over ~17,600 USD.

In related news, Dalmatian will be kicking off their international activities next month by participating in the ‘KMF 2012 5th Hallyu Music Festival‘ in Japan on September 15th and 17th.
