SHINee to collaborate with Beat Burger for an electronic remix of their hit songs at 'UMF Korea 2013'

SHINee is crossing off another feat on their bucket list as they are scheduled to stand on stage at a major music festival, 'UMF Korea 2013'!

This will be the group's first time performing at a major music festival of this nature, and you can bet they'll loosen up fans' 'serious' nature at the event taking place on the 15th.

The group will be the guest of electronic team Beat Burger, led by Black Beat's Shim Jae Won who serves as the choreography director for SM artists. They'll be collaborating with Beat Burger to perform the remix of 3 of their hit songs including "Dream Girl".

UMF is an electronic music festival that is held across the world and this will be the second time that the festival is held in Korea.

SHINee to take you on a ‘SURPRISE VACATION’ through their travel note

Remember when SHINee took you along on their vacation through ‘SHINee’s Wonderful Day‘?

Well, they’re going to be taking you on the same trip again, but this time not through the camera lens but through their own travel note called ‘SHINee SURPRISE VACATION‘. SM Entertainment said, “The travel note has the many stories of the SHINee members as they traveled through Switzerland, Thailand, England, and Japan. The book contains beautiful scenery and the member’s daily activities, so it’ll interest not only the fans but also travel maniacs.”

This isn’t the first travel-related book from the group as Taemin, Onew, and Key have already published ‘The Sun’s Children‘ on their trip to Barcelona. 

So this second one should be something to look forward to! It will hit shelves on the 25th!

SHINee’s Key Drives Girls Crazy with His “Over Dance”

SHINee‘s Key recently displayed his “over dance” skills, which caused viewers to laugh.

On the episode of “Dream Team Season 2” that aired on May 12, SHINee’s Onew, Key, Minho and Taemin joined comedian No Woo Jin and Secret‘s Han Sun Hwa to visit a high school girl’s soccer team.

During the episode, Onew sang for one of the soccer team members with a sweet serenade. He even held her hand and gave her a hug, which made her quite giddy with happiness.

Another soccer team member revealed that Key was her favorite member and asked him for an “over dance” (meaning to “overdo” a certain dance to make it look stronger and more intense). Key granted her wish by doing a fantastic “over dance,” causing everyone to double up in laughter. Key even did a couple dance with the soccer athlete.

Meanwhile, the episode also shows how the SHINee members gave piggyback rides to the high school athletes while doing penalty kicks.

SHINee’s Minho Spotted on University Campus

The handsome Minho of SHINee was spotted at Kun Kook University while filming for an advertisement for the school.

On May 13, a post was made on an online community forum with the title, “SHINee’s Minho Spotted Today at Kun Kook” along with several photos.

In the photos, Minho was seen posing around various locations at his school. He is currently enrolled in the Film Studies major at Kun Kook University and was reported to be filming for a school advertisement.

Minho sported a comfortable campus style with a cardigan, letterman jacket and khaki pants. He posed in vairoius locations such as in front of the library, a classroom, a lake and more.

Meanwhile, SHINee is currently promoting “Why So Serious” by making many TV appearances.

Well, that’s exactly what Konkuk University wants you to think when you see these photos! Minho took promotional photos for the school he’s attending with a major in film. He took photos which will be featured on the promotional material for admissions and also filmed a video as well.

Minho was dressed up in the Konkuk University Varsity Letterman Jacket, and he looked as cool as ever as he talked with the other students and then enjoyed the sun with a bright smile.

SHINee chooses the ‘bare face’ as their favorite style of makeup

Shawols, perhaps its time to put those makeup cases away. The boys of SHINee revealed what kind of makeup they liked seeing on a girl and it’s – well, none at all, or very little.

The SHINee members were featured on the May 14 episode of SBS E!‘s ‘Star Beauty Show‘. On the program, the staff members asked SHINee what kind of makeup they liked on women. All of the members unanimously agreed, “We like very little makeup, similar to a bare face.”

When Minho told Key, “I felt as though you would like the smoky makeup style“, Key answered, “All men like the type of make up where it appears as if there is none.“

SHINee Shares Cute End of the Day Video

The boys of SHINee gave their fans an unexpected surprise. On May 11, SM Entertainment shared a video of the group in their apartment through their official SMTOWN YouTube channel.

The video starts off with Taemin and Key making strange noises. As the four members settle on the couch, Key shows off their newest mini album and each member takes turn posing for the camera. Taemin then asks for their fans to support SHINee, their new song “Why So Serious?“, and Jonghyun who is recovering from his surgery. They say good bye and Taemin randomly remarks, “I want to go on a trip” which Key finds puzzling.

Na Eun and Taemin reveal their honest thoughts about viewer comments on ‘We Got Married’

SHINee‘s Taemin and A Pink‘s Na Eun shared their honest thoughts about comments by viewers on ‘We Got Married 4‘.

The two idols are the newest couple to join the show, and it seems not everyone was happy to see them together on screen. On the May 11th show, Taemin asked Na Eun if she read some of the negative comments, and she replied that she did.

During her solo interview, she expressed, “I saw all the comments. I was trying not to see them, but I ended up reading them. It’d be a lie if I said there wasn’t anything that upset me. As time passes, I worry about it more and I only see the bad things. I got hurt.”

Taemin stated, “Though I thank those who are looking at us in a positive light, there will definitely be those who think negatively of us. I wish Na Eun wouldn’t see those comments. Since she’s younger than I am, I want to protect her.”

SHINee’s Taemin Chosen as Most Filial Idol

It’s Parent’s Day (May 8) in Korea and the netizens have chosen SHINee’s Taemin as the Most filial idol.

From April 30 to May 7, online community, DC Inside held a survey titled, ‘Which idol is the best filial-dol to his/her parents?’ The idol that came out first was none other than Taemin.

Taemin took 37.2 percent or 141,257 out of 379,633 votes. It’s assumed that Taemin came out at the top with the help of what he said on a variety show about how he bought his parents a house in Chungdahm-dong as well as a foreign car, despite still being in his teens.

Chasing after Taemin on the list was Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon (31.1%), IU (16.1%), Big Bang’s G-Dragon (11.2%), and JYJ’s Park Yoo Chun (2.3%). Other idols on the list included Kim Hyun Joong, Super Junior’s Eunhyuk and Yesung, miss A’s Suzy, Infinite’s Woohyun, SISTAR’s Bora, and more.

SHINee tops physical album sales charts in Korea and Taiwan

The SHINee-zombie apocalypse is here – in Korea and Taiwan, at least.

The boys released the second part of their 3rd album ‘Why So Serious? – The Misconceptions of Me‘ towards the end of April, and of course topped Hanteo’s daily chart before they went on to sweep the weekly chart (4/29-5/5)!

It doesn’t stop there since the physical album sales also ranked #1 on Taiwan’s ‘Five Music‘ Korea-Japan chart for the week (4/26-5/2), showing fans’ immense support for this group.

SHINee’s Minho has pasta cravings soaring with his new CF for ‘Gluten Free Rice Pasta’

Food brand ‘Our Home‘ picked the perfect endorsement model when they announced SHINee‘s Minho as their new face!

The brand commented, “To suit the current trends these days, we decided to recruit a model that young female customers would like… We thought that Minho with his healthy and bright image was the appropriate choice to spread the taste of health of ‘Our Home’.”

With his appointment, Minho has started endorsing the brand’s new ‘Gluten Free Rice Pasta‘, and he definitely has cravings soaring as he not only takes a bite of the pasta, but also plays the role of a chef as he chops up the ingredients.

Minho revealed that he quite enjoyed the filming of the CFs, commenting, “I cook pretty often so I was able to enjoy this filming as the product itself was simple to work with.”

Onew Finds His Long Lost Twin Brother?

SHINee‘s leader Onew recently recorded his cameo appearance on KBS 2TV‘s sitcom drama “Pure Love.” 

On April 29, staff of KBS 2TV’s “Pure Love” announced through a news portal site that “Onew finished his recording for ‘Pure Love’ today! He will be starring as Lee Won Geun’s older cousin.”

On that same day, the PD of “Pure Love” tweeted, “Onew will be appearing on the next episode of ‘Pure Love.’ He will be playing as Choi Joon Young’s (who plays the role of Lee Won Geun) older cousin! But wow, they really look alike!” and shared the following photo.

In the photo, Onew has his script in his arms while Choi Joon Young poses behind him with two V-signs. The two stars look adorable and remarkably identical in appearance, enough to look related that is!

The episode where Onew makes his cameo appearance is scheduled to air on May 10.

Taemin and Na Eun spotted on a date in their school uniforms for ‘We Got Married’

SHINee‘s Taemin and A Pink‘s Na Eun continued to make fans pout in jealousy. The newest couple to join ‘We Got Married‘ were spotted on a date.

Taemin and Na Eun reminded fans that they’re the youngest couple to ever feature on the show by going on a date in their school uniforms. The two lovebirds are seen getting to know each other and having a good time while sipping on their drinks, and by drinks we mean juice!

Fans commented, “I’m just jealous, that’s all,” “The student couple has been created,” and “I hope they date in real life.”

Taemin and Na Eun met for the first time on last week’s episode, and showed their inexperience when it comes to love and spilled their honest feelings with each other.

Onew to make a cameo on sitcom ‘A Bit of Love’

SHINee‘s Onew will make a cameo appearance on KBS‘s sitcom, ‘A Bit of Love‘!

The director of the sitcom, Kwon Jae Young, tweeted the above picture of Onew with actor Lee Won Geun and wrote, “Onew will be appearing on ‘A Bit of Love’. A surprise appearance as Lee Won Geun’s cousin! The two really look alike.”

Onew apparently completed filming for his portion on the 29th, and the episode with his appearance will be broadcast on May 10th.

‘Weekly Idol‘ went around with a survey titled, ‘They’re so~ different~ from their real selves! The cosplay-idols that have a business image‘. Many idols participated in the survey, offering their suggestions on whom they believe to be the most different on and off camera.

To the amusement of fans some of the results were released through the show’s Twitter.



First up was TEEN TOP‘s L.Joe. His own members Niel, Ricky, and Changjo wrote, “Angel on stage, demon off stage!!!!!“, “Cute hyung vs player hyung“, and “He really has absolutely no charisma!“.


Next up was INFINITE‘s Sungjong, who was nominated by L, who wrote, “Show us your real self“.



However, more members seemed to think that L was the more likely candidate, as Sunggyu, Dongwoo, Hoya, Sungyeol, and Sungjong wrote, “He has two faces“, “It’s not the same person..“, “L and Myungsoo are different people…“, “He’s cool on stage, but he’s not cool anymore“, and “He has a chic image, but he’s actually lively and fun“. 

Others seemed to agree, as TEEN TOP’s C.A.P, Rainbow‘s Jisook, and Hello Venus‘ Ara wrote, “You’re all being fooled“, “He seems like a cold city pretty boy but he’s actually weird“, and “Cold image vs bright, nice manner-man“.

SHINee’s Taemin and A Pink’s Na Eun meet for the first time on ‘We Got Married’

The newest idol couple to join ‘We Got Married 4‘ met for the first time on the April 27th episode.

SHINee‘s Taemin and A Pink‘s Na Eun definitely seemed shy and nervous to see their unknown partner, but they managed to spill their honest feelings during their first meeting. 

During his solo interview, Taemin stated, “When A Pink first debuted, I pointed out Na Eun as the prettiest member. I saw her for the first time on Jeju Island, and it was like a painting,” while Na Eun revealed, “I think the first impression and meeting will be very memorable. He was so cute.”

Despite his young age and being the youngest member of SHINee, Taemin took the lead and tried to make Na Eun comfortable, surprising the studio with his forwardness. 

He frankly stated, “[You're] one of the ideal types I told the producers about,” which made the A Pink member a little flustered.

‘We Got Married’ suffers a ratings drop despite new couple

Even the appearance of a brand-new couple couldn’t stop the recent downward slide for MBC‘s ‘We Got Married‘, which saw another precipitous drop in ratings for its latest episode.

According to AGB Nielson, ‘We Got Married’ recorded a nationwide rating of 6.0%, a drop of 0.3% from its previous week and a continuation of its recent trend of sliding viewership.

Although the newest episode saw the appearance of SHINee‘s Taemin and A Pink‘s Na Eun as the youngest-ever couple in the show’s history, they weren’t enough to stop the bleeding of viewers from the faux wedding variety program.

SHINee releases “Why So Serious?” music video teaser!

SHINee has just released the music video teaser for their comeback title track “Why So Serious?“!

The group’s third album’s second half, which is titled ‘Why So Serious? – The Misconceptions of Me‘, will be released online on the 26th, rather than the previously mentioned date of the 29th! The offline release will actually be taking place on the 29th.

But if that still feels too far away for you, you’re in luck as the boys just unveiled their MV teaser for “Why So Serious?” on April 22nd. The song is a dance track that is accompanied by a powerful performance that will show you a bit of a different side to the group than “Dream Girl” stages.

As mentioned before, the boys will promote as four members in the beginning due to Jonghyun’s injury, and it’s said he’ll be joining them after his treatments have been completed.

SHINee’s “Why So Serious?” Choreographed by Devin Jamieson

It’s been revealed that Devin Jamieson, the world-renowned choreographer who worked with Michael Jackson, Usher, and Britney Spears, among others, collaborated with SHINee on the choreography for the group’s upcoming single, “Why So Serious?” This isn’t the first time Jamieson has worked with an SM artist. 

He also choreographed Super Junior’s “Sexy, Free & Single.”
